Cycling in Ribble Valley

Cycle routes

The Ribble Valley has miles of scenic country roads of which many are ideal for riding your bicycle. To the right are some downloadable maps and leaflets detailing these routes.

You can download several other routes across not only the Ribble Valley but Lancashire as a whole by visiting Lancashire County Council's dedicated cycling website.

Online cycle planner

An online cycle route tool is available to help you plan your cycling journeys.

Free 'Cycle to Work' commuting classes

People in Lancashire who are thinking about cycling to work or even just taking up cycling are being invited to sign up to a two hour tailored course where they will be able to brush up on their cycling skills.

There are a number of workshops available, either for one-to-one training or for a group of friends, workmates or even family.

Download the Cycle commuting to work courses leaflet for more information.

Cycle training

Cycle training takes place across schools in the Ribble Valley through two schemes:

Bikeability - Government funded places are available for this scheme (www.bikeability.info) which is being rolled out through i-Cycle Training (www.icycletraining.co.uk) throughout the Ribble Valley. Not every school is able to access this training as places are limited. For more information on how your school can access this training please call Ian at i-Cycle Training on 07976 757684

Cycle Training - this is a Lancashire County Council initiative who are working with Go Velo and offer adult training courses.

For more information on this scheme see Lancashire County Council Cycle Training.
