Applications for Permission in Principle

From 1 June 2018 it has been possible to apply for Permission in Principle.

The Permission in Principle consent route is an alternative way of obtaining planning permission for housing-led development which separates the consideration of matters of principle for proposed development from the techincal detail of the development.  The permission in principle consent route has two stages: the first stage (or permission in principle stage) establishes whether a site is suitable in prinicple and the second (technical details consent) stage is when the detailed development proposals are assessed.

There is a right of appeal where a local planning authority refuses permission in principle upon receipt of a valid application.  The procedures in place are set out in Article 5V of the Town and Country Planning (Permission in Principle) Order 2017 (as amended).

Below is a list of application numbers for Permission in Principle applications submitted to Ribble Valley Borough Council.  The application details can be viewed using our planning application search facility, or by clicking on the links below.
