COVID-19 testing options in the Ribble Valley throughout the Christmas holiday period

PCR Testing

Please book a PCR test if you have COVID-19 symptoms or if you have tested positive following a Lateral Flow test.  You can Book a test online or by calling 119 (opening hours at bottom of page).

The Edisford Road Testing Centre in Clitheroe will remain open throughout the holiday period, although reduced opening hours of 10am to 2pm will be operated on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.  All remaining days will be the normal operating hours of 8am to 6pm.

A Mobile Testing Unit (MTU) is scheduled to visit Longridge Civic Hall car park on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day, and will operate between 10.00-12.00hrs.  A MTU is also scheduled to visit Longridge Civic Hall car park between 10.00-15.00hrs on 2 January 2022.

Lateral Flow Testing

Nationally, Lateral Flow Test  kits are in high demand.  There is also a significant problem operating Lateral Flow testing sites, as most staff have been deployed to assist with the booster vaccination programme.

There are a limited number of LFT kits (family pack of 20 home tests) available for collection at Ribble Valley’s LFT Centre located on RVBC’s car park (BB7 2RA), and also at the Gym to the rear of Longridge Civic Hall.  However, it is anticipated that these will all been taken by Christmas Eve afternoon.

Ribble Valley’s LFT Centre is closed throughout the festive period from Christmas Day.

Please note:  Residents can order their own PCR and lateral flow tests every day over the festive period by calling 119 or going online at gov.ukIn some cases, tests may take slightly longer than usual to arrive due to Royal Mail’s collection and delivery times over the festive period.
