Coronavirus Vaccination Van Comes to Clitheroe
A vaccination van offering the Pfizer jab to anyone over 18 is coming to Clitheroe this Thursday (10 June).
he pop-up coronavirus vaccination walk-in clinic will set up shop in Booths Supermarket car park from noon to 7pm.
Anyone aged 18 or over, subject to eligibility, is welcome to pop in for the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine.
Matt Riding, Ribble Valley Borough Council’s head of environmental health, said: “These roving vaccination vans make getting a jab easier and more convenient, with medical staff on hand to answer questions and address any concerns people might have.
“Don’t assume you or your wider family aren’t eligible for the jab and if you are unsure simply pop down and speak to the team.”
Jane Scattergood, Covid-19 vaccination director for Lancashire and South Cumbria, said: “These pop-up vaccination clinics mean people have more opportunities to get their vaccination at a time and place that suits them.
“I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who is working hard on the delivery of the vaccination programme in Ribble Valley.”
Don’t forget, if you live or work in Ribble Valley, you can now take a free rapid coronavirus (Covid-19) test twice a week.
Alongside the vaccine rollout, regular testing is at the heart of plans to suppress the spread of coronavirus variants.
Everyone in Ribble Valley can now access free, regular, rapid coronavirus tests from the new lateral flow testing centre in Clitheroe and pop-up centres in Whalley and Longridge.
One in three people with Covid-19 do not have any symptoms and may be spreading the virus without knowing it.
Rapid testing detects cases quickly, meaning those who test positive can isolate immediately.
Clitheroe’s lateral flow testing centre is based at the Council Offices car park in Church Walk. It is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 4pm and Saturdays from 10am to 2pm.
Pop-up centres operate at Longridge Civic Hall on Tuesdays and Fridays from noon to 6pm and Whalley Village Hall on Tuesdays from 9am to 4pm.
As well as getting tested onsite, you can also collect up to two boxes containing seven testing kits each for use in the home or workplace.
- If you are unable to attend the vaccination van in Clitheroe on Thursday, it will visit the Coop car park in Barnoldswick from 10am to 4pm on Saturday and the Queensgate Mosque in Colne Road, Burnley, from 10am to 4pm on Sunday.
