A Whole Week of Tasty Treats in Ribble Valley is on the Menu
It’s enough to get everyone’s tastebuds tingling.
A whole week of tasty treats across the Ribble Valley is on the menu from this Saturday (3 August).
A Taste Fest of mouth-watering meals, distinctive drinks and perfect pies (along with a wide-range of other food and drink) will serve up something for everyone at venues across the borough from 3-9 August.
It will all lead up to the “final course” – Clitheroe Food Festival on Saturday 10th August.
The Taste Fest serves up a starter of a meal of traditional Lancashire fare at Artisan Ribble Valley, Whalley Road, Billington on Saturday and then continues every day across various locations that showcase not just the best of local produce, but also some stunning countryside.
The Taste Fest will also include pizza-making, food tours and demonstrations, guided walks and grub, and distillery tour and taste events.
Further details on all the events planned for the week ahead can be found at www.clitheroefoodfestival.com or by searching Clitheroe Food Festival on Facebook.
It all whets the appetite for Clitheroe Food Festival which will be held at venues across Clitheroe town centre on Saturday 10 August.
A park and ride scheme for visitors will be in operation between Hanson’s Cement, West Bradford Road, and Edisford Road public car park, and the town centre.
Councillor David Birtwhistle, chair of Ribble Valley Borough Council’s economic development committee, said: “The coming week promises to deliver the ultimate celebration of local produce and drink set amongst some of the most beautiful countryside in Britain.
“The Taste Fest is a showcase of the best of the Ribble Valley and a chance to sample some of the most outstanding food and drink in the country. That’s down to the support of local businesses and all the hard work they put in throughout the whole year.
“It culminates in Clitheroe Food Festival which is always a recipe for a marvellous day.
“It’s all a wonderful opportunity to bring in visitors from across the north and show them some of the marvellous food, drink and surroundings Ribble Valley has to offer.”
Both festivals are organised by Ribble Valley Borough Council to showcase the best of the best of the area’s food and drink and draw in visitors to discover what the Ribble Valley has to offer. And while the emphasis will be on local produce, other parts of the county and the north will also feature.
