Last Chance to Have Your Say on Swimming Provision in Ribble Valley
Nearly 2,000 people have had their say on swimming provision in Ribble Valley.
And this is the last chance to make your views known on the future of Ribblesdale Pool in Clitheroe and swimming provision in the borough, as the survey closes on Friday (8 March).
Ribble Valley Borough Council has commissioned a study into swimming provision in the borough and the future of the Edisford Road pool.
The study, undertaken by Strategic Leisure Limited, will consider the cost of rebuilding or refurbishing the pool, how much it will cost to run and whether or not it might attract funding.
It will also look at what type of facility is needed to meet the needs of future residents and swimmers at the current or alternative sites, and other physical activities that respondents take part in.
Ricky Newmark, chairman of Ribble Valley Borough Council’s community services committee, said: “Ribblesdale Pool is a popular facility, which has served generations of local swimmers, but it is suffering from wear and tear and is subject to spiralling energy costs.
“We are committed to providing a public swimming pool and it is crucial that we understand the views of residents and pool-users, whose input we really value.
“The response to the survey has been fantastic and we are inviting as many people as possible to have their say before Friday’s deadline.”
The Ribblesdale Pool survey is available and closes at midnight on Friday, 8 March.
Respondents who provide their email address will be entered into a draw to win a £100 Love2shop voucher.
