Act Quickly to Join Saturday’s Christmas Singalong at Clitheroe Castle
Tickets are being snapped up for a community Christmas singalong at Clitheroe Castle on Saturday (2 December).
Ribble Valley Borough Council has joined forces with the Clitheroe Chamber of Trade and Love Clitheroe to host a free feast of festive family fun throughout the day.
The day will culminate at 4.30pm at the Clitheroe Castle bandstand with a Carols at the Castle event organised by Love Clitheroe.
The free singalong will feature a live band leading modern and traditional carols, but if you want to join in the fun you better act quickly, because tickets are being snapped up.
The Carols at the Castle event will round off an activity-packed day of festive fun in Clitheroe.
From 1pm, Clitheroe Market will resound to the Sounds of Sykora, with a festive playlist guaranteed to warm the cockles of your heart, after which the popular Clitheroe Pop Choir will take to the bullring at 2.30pm, followed by a Christmas lights switch-on at 3pm by Ribble Valley Mayor Mark Hindle.
There will be a Santa’s grotto at the castle gates in Castlegate in aid of the Clitheroe Foodbank, live music, fire jugglers and stalls selling winter woollies in Castle Street, along with the yarnbombing of bollards and lampposts throughout the town centre.
Families can enjoy an elf hunt in the grounds of Clitheroe Castle and anyone collecting a map for the hunt from the Castlegate collection point, who is wearing a Christmas jumper and is happy to have their picture taken for social media, will be entered into a prize draw for Shop Clitheroe vouchers.
Nicola Hopkins, Ribble Valley Borough Council’s director of economic development and planning, said: “We are delighted to be working with the Clitheroe Chamber of Trade and Love Clitheroe to host this festive jamboree.
“Visitors to Clitheroe on Saturday can expect top-quality local produce, great music, a feast of free family fun and a warm Ribble Valley welcome.”
Carols at the Castle organiser Dave Thornber added: “This magical event is a free gift to the town from Love Clitheroe and admission although free is by ticket only.
“Tickets are being snapped up fast and we are advising people to act quickly if they want to attend.”
Ticket for Carols to the Castle are available from thegrandvenue.co.uk.
